Survival Skills
What would you do if you awoke to your home engulfed in a raging fire?
What would you do if you were the first one on the scene of a bad car accident?
What would you do if your home was directly in the crosshairs of a tornado?
What would you do if you found a child drowning in someones pool?

Life is full of twists and turns, and like you...I often wonder what my future may be like. What events may unfold that I have no control over. Things happen sometimes that can change the way we look at our lives in an instant! When something happens that threatens our very existance we soon realize just how precious life is and how easy it is to have it taken from us in a split second!
I am a Private Pilot and this is an account of a time when I could have killed myself and a good friend of mine in a plane crash because of a FREAK mechanical failure!
We were out just enjoying ourselves, flying around the heavens. It was a gorgeous day, the sun was shining brightly and we were just soaking up all of the beauty beneath us when it happened...A freak fuel line break. I could smell the gasoline and watch as the fuel gauge started to deplete quickly. We were going to fall out of the sky very soon.In a split second...time was against us, and we found ourselves in a survival situation!

For me...that day happened pretty early in life (the day my world changed) and since then I have devoted part of my life to helping others prepare for the day when it happens for them, BECAUSE IT WILL HAPPEN! A day like mine may come in your life when, your perception of taking life for granted is over, and a new reality of how short life can be and how it can be snuffed out, in a blink of an eye.. replaces it!
PLANNING AHEAD...PREPERATION IS THE KEY!
You have probably spent some time trying to find accurate information on the events are going to happen in the near future, that are sure to effect you and your family!

What does ‘purification of the world’ mean?

Will modern science prove predictions made by Nostradomis and others thousands of years ago correct, and does this proof eliminate any doubt that 2012 will be the start of the most catastrophic events and natural disasters that the world has ever witnessed?
What does the Pope know about the truth of the ends of time and is he involved in creating this New World Order, and if so...how will I be able to start separating the truth from his lies on my own.
Where are the safest areas of the world to live when the ends of time begin, to ensure the survival of my family?"YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED"

We Could Not Give You All Of The Secrets Inside
But here is 1 example of the many, many tips and secrets inside USSG:
An ordinary trash bag can collect gallons of fresh water for you! (without it raining) So don't leave it out of your survival kit! You will now become one of the few who know this secret!
Large leafy green trees provide 100's of gallons of water per day through a process known as 'transpiration'.We just do not see it because of 'evaporation'!

How To Collect It: Insert a large (green) leafy tree limb inside of the trash bag
(Be Sure To Leave The Branch Attatched To The Tree, You Would Be Amazed
Then secure the opening of the trash bag tightly to the limb with the leafy branch inside the trash bag. This stops the evaporation process. Now leave it alone throughout the rest of the day and night. (approx.10-14 hrs.) When you remove the trash bag from the limb you will find a tasty treat for your thirst inside!
There are so many nuances to survive a situation, yet all them are so simple to pull off. But if you don't know this stuff...you might be left floundering about in real time wishing you had prepared for the situation you have just found yourself in!

Backpacking Trip Information

Backpacking Trip Information For Home And Abroad. Includes EBook And Audio Information For Great Wilderness Adventures In Hiking And Backpacking.Once you get started, you will wonder why you waited so long to explore this beautiful planet, improve your stamina and physical strength, and experience the beauty and solitude of the wilderness!
I spend at least one weekend a month backpacking and all of my vacations take me to back country, wilderness and/or exotic locales. And it doesn’t cost me much at all!
The truth is that you can see the world for a lot less than you ever imagined!
You just need a little help and information to get you started.
Maybe you think you can’t afford the equipment?
Maybe you think you have to be in great shape, and you can never imagine getting to that point?
Perhaps you have watched friends go off on their own adventures and come back with beautiful photographs and enough great stories to fill a book? Down sleeping bags take up less space and are easier to carry if you are backpacking. They are easy to clean and you can put them in the dryer on warm air and fluff them back to just like new.
Synthetic or nylon sleeping bags are cheaper to purchase.Nylon sleeping bags take wear and tear well and will stay warm even when they are wet. They are the most popular sleeping bags for the weekend camper. The one thing I noticed when camping with a nylon bag is that they tend to be noisy when sleeping and you role over to change positions.I prefer a bag that has a cotton outer lining they are quiet especially if your sleeping on a cot.
Make sure to inspect your sleeping bag before you buy it.Check to see if you like a sleeping bag that has a zipper on the right or left side.Check the length of the bag to make sure it is long enough a short sleeping bag will be uncomfortable to sleep in.

How To Make A Potato Gun

Check out the potato gun site and build one yourself. Promotional sports cannons: Portable pneumatic cannons which run on bottled CO2 are common at large sports games in the U.S. where they are used to project items such as T-shirts or wrapped food into the audience. They tend to be made of higher quality materials than an average pneumatic spudgun but they use the same methods of operation.
Special effects cannons: In film and theatre productions pneumatic cannons are often used as a pyrotechnic-free method of material projection. These can vary from simple ball valve, manually operated models to electronically triggered designs operated from a remote control panel depending on the exact requirements.

Camp fire

The easiest camp fire to start is a tee pee fire. Place your kindling in the form of a tee pee. You can also try pyramid fires, lean-to fires. you want a nest in the middle of your kindling, where you will light your tinder or kindling. To help start a camp fire you can use lint from your pocket, cattail seed head down, fine dry grass, cotton twine, cotton cloth, dry-rotted wood, and some dry funguses that grow on trees.

Ticks

Ticks are a problem in the spring and summer. Ticks can attach to you and your pets. The female deer tick has a tear drop shape with a reddish orange abdomen and solid black dorsal shield. The male is smaller and a uniform black in color. The nymph also has a tear drop shape, but is a dark brown to black in color. The female lone star tick is more roundest and has single, white spot in the center of it's body. The male, also round, has a chestnut brown color with no distinguishing markings. The female and nymphal ticks feed and can transmit diseases.

If you are camping or hiking you need to know what to do if you have a tick bite. Make sure to check your pets especially dogs for ticks if they have been out running in brushy areas. Check your clothing and skin to make sure a tick has not got on your person. If you see a tick and you remove it within twenty four hours. This will greatly reduces the likelihood of Lyme disease getting transmitted to you. If you are out in the woods or camping and the temperature is above freezing. Deer ticks are active and you should take precautions. You should be careful May to June and October and November.

Wound heavy bleeding

Major Wound
Apply direct pressure by clamping your hand on the wound, then elevate the injury above the heart to slow blood flow. If bleeding continues for 30 minutes, use clothes to wrap the site in a pressure dressing. “Don’t keep checking to see if it’s working, even if it’s bloody” says Dr. Jeff Gutterman, a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. “That’s a classic mistake.” If the bleeding doesn’t stop after another 30 minutes, tie off the wound a few inches above the site. If you get emergency help within several hours you probably won’t lose the limb.
Poisonous Snakes
Every year, 8000 people are bitten by snakes To check if you’ve been bitten by a poisonous snake, look for a pair of deep puncture marks. Swelling will be quick, so remove constricting items such as jewelry. Now, try to stay calm and keep the bite below heart level as you head to the nearest hospital. What about slicing the bite and sucking out the venom? It doesn’t work, and you might slice into something that can’t be easily repaired

Car and truck tents

Make sure the tent has a floor and it does not have any holes in it. you can keep the floor clean by taking along a old piece of carpet to wipe your shoes on out side the tent opening. Take off your shoes once your inside the tent. Make sure to check the windows of the tent. Any holes need to be repaired so flying insect do not get into the tent. If you have a large family you can buy a wall tent. These cabin tents have a wall inside so you can have some privacy. Remember the larger the tent the more it is going to weigh. A good formula for space is that for every 2 people you will need a 3rd space for their belongings. you need to check with the camp ground also to see if they have any restriction on tent size.

If you like to be on the move faster. You can look at the new style of tents that hook up directly to your vehicle. These tent hook up to the back door or tail gait of your pick up and your set to go. These car tents are great if you are planning a long drive across country. Tent camping can be fun and you need to choose the right type of tent to make it more enjoyable.

Making a fire

Keep fires small and you'll spend less time collecting firewood. Just get closer for warmth. If you are also using the fire for possible signaling in an emergency, you can still keep it small, but keep a pile of brushy branches nearby to add if a plane goes by.
Digestion is more difficult at high altitude. This seems to be especially true for fats and proteins. If you are headed above 12,000 feet, you may want to save your crackers and other simple carbohydrates for snacking on top of that mountain.
In hot weather, soak your hat in every stream or water source you pass. A wet hat is like having a little air conditioner on your head. A wet bandana around your neck helps too.

Edged weapons from wood

You can make expedient edged weapons from wood. Use these only to puncture. Bamboo is the only wood that will hold a suitable edge. To make a knife using wood, first select a straight-grained piece of hardwood that is about 30 centimeters long and 2.5 centimeters in diameter. Fashion the blade about 15 centimeters long. Shave it down to a point. Use only the straight-grained portions of the wood. Do not use the core or pith, as it would make a weak point.
Harden the point by a process known as fire hardening. If a fire is possible, dry the blade portion over the fire slowly until lightly charred. The drier the wood, the harder the point. After lightly charring the blade portion, sharpen it on a coarse stone. If using bamboo and after fashioning the blade, remove any other wood to make the blade thinner from the inside portion of the bamboo. Removal is done this way because bamboo's hardest part is its outer layer. Keep as much of this layer as possible to ensure the hardest blade possible. When charring bamboo over a fire, char only the inside wood; do not char the outside.
