Bite Stop Spray Bite Stop Solid

Bite Stop Solid is a revolutionary concept in Natural Repellents. Two of the chief complaints about natural repellents are that they are not very effective and they don't last very long. Bite Stop Solid conquers both of these concerns. Because its active ingredients are suspended in a solid form (Beeswax), the product does not evaporate quickly and will not 'sweat off' like sprays. In addition we have been able to suspend twice the percentage of active ingredients in the solid than is usually found in natural repellent sprays.

How to treat frost bite

The first sign of frostbite is that you might lose feelings in the affected part of your body. White patches on the skin are the next obvious symptom. Watch for a white tip of the nose. The skin will appear pale and waxy. The fingers may clack together like pieces of wood in serious frost bite. You should check for frostbite if you are not sure that you can feel some part of your feet, nose or hand especially your fingers.

How to make Wind and Solar energy

Home Energy Kit Hot New Energy Product!Economic turmoil, unemployment, global warming, cost of living increases…these are all great reasons to stop wasting money on energy bills and to start thinking about generating your own electricity. Also take into consideration the depletion of all of the resources we now rely on to produce our energy. As these resources disappear so will our money because it will cost more as these resources become more scarce!
Contrary to what the big energy companies want you to believe, this country runs on only 0.2% renewable energy sources which means all of the resources we are using everyday will eventually run out.
Wind and Solar energy are the best possible renewable energy sources and most people don’t know that their entire house could be run on wind and solar energy modules they can make at home themselves! The wind and sun has been around for millions of years and as far as I can see, it will be here for millions more!

How to build a A-Frame Shelter

The A-frame provides more shelter from rain than a single lean-to. It does require many pieces of wood.
Start by finding a tree with a forked branch that is 3 to 4 feet above the base of the trunk and break away any other branches that may injure you or might hamper the construction of your shelter.
You'll need to find a fallen tree that is about 12 to 15 feet long to act as a ridge pole. Place this tree in to the fork of the support tree so that you form a 30-degree angle between the pole and the ground. In a pinch, you can use a fallen tree that happens to be at a 30 degree angle to the ground or lay a strong ridge pole against a 3 to 4 foot high stump.
As with the lean-to, lay support poles across the ridge pole. This time, you'll be laying them on both sides and at a 60 degree angle to the ground. Support poles need to be long enough to extend above the ridge pole and should be placed about 1 to 1 1/2 feet apart.
Crisscross small branches into the support poles.
Cover the framework with grass, moss, and leaves. Start covering the roof from the bottom and layer the materials. Doing so will prevent rain from coming in to the shelter.
Note that you could make the high part of the shelter higher up off the ground, but you will then need a longer ridge pole to maintain the 30 degree angle. A steeper angle will result in added exposure to rain and wind.

Few Activities Provide Anywhere Near As Much Benefit For People. Hiking And Backpacking Can Improve One's Life Mentally, Physically And Spiritually. The More Of An Active, Outdoor Lifestyle One Leads... The Happier And Healthier They Tend To Be.My favorite is the mental clarity that an occasional outing provides. Navigating the terrain of a trail puts you squarely in the present moment and that’s a powerful place to be.
Hiking can be an awesome cardio workout and the view from the trail is so much more interesting than the view from your treadmill.
The feeling of accomplishment that comes from finishing a section of trail leads you to the realization that you can do anything you set your mind to.
I’ve seen hiking mend the rifts in relationships between father and son, husband and wife and the priceless outdoor memories created among friends you’ll cherish for the rest of your life.

Tent Camping And Enjoying The Outdoors

I could just give you advice from personal experience, but anybody who's been camping can do that.
The problem is there are no standards for tent camping to tell right from wrong. There's piles of bad information on the Internet today because of this.
I believe good advice needs come from more than one source. So I pulled together 11 people with over 138 years of combined camping experience. Not only this, every piece of key advice is compared to over 46 other reliable sources. If the advice doesn't match from at least three sources, it's thrown out.
From what I've seen, even experienced campers can give out bad tips.
For instance, I threw out one piece of bad advice dealing with bears. One camping expert suggested playing dead if attacked by a bear. I knew this wasn't entirely true, so I checked my other sources. Camping Guide!

Start a survival garden

Start a survival garden and learn how to can. Our grandparents and great grandparents did it every summer and fall in preparation for winter. They had fresh vegetables all winter long that way! You can find lots of online resources on how to can vegetables and even meat; but I think your best bet would be either taking a class or finding a book on canning. You want as much knowledge as possible to prevent storing a bunch of food only to find it’s gone bad due to a bad seal.

An important wilderness survival skill is knowing how to fish, which requires basic supplies like a fishing hook and string. You can keep them in a small container in your backpack or pocket.Bait can be found under old piles of wood or brush where worms and bugs hide. You can use a safety pin as a hook if you have one pinned to your clothes or backpack in a emergency.

Clean water system

I've done a lot of research on different water filters and there's one common problem with most of them. They don't remove pathogenic bacteria and parasites. They also don't last nearly as long as this homemade filter will.
It's main benefits over most commercial filters are:
- you get one of the most effective filters at only a fraction of a regular cost
- unlike most filters it's SELF-sterilizing
- unlike other filter systems it DOESN'T remove beneficial minerals
- removes pathogenic bacteria and parasites to UNDETECTABLE levels
- reduces up to 95% of heavy metals
- works purely on gravity so it's not electricity powered
- unlike ineffective jug filters this one REALLY does protect your health
- it's VERY simple to make and will take you less than 30 minutes to assemble

Lynx critical habitat

Lynx are listed as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act. In late February, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service designated 39,000 square miles of forest in six states as critical habitat for the species. That includes 1,836 square miles in Chelan and Okanogan counties — all on federal land in the North Cascades. This critical habitat apparently includes the many valleys and lower elevations in the same swath of land where lynx don't actually live, but which they may need to travel to get to new habitat.

Black Flies insect bites

These are some of the most irritating of insect bites, because they blackflies not only swarm over you, but crawl and wiggle to get under clothing and at your skin. A head net helps. Survival situation shelter

When you are in a survival situation and realize that shelter is a high priority, start looking for shelter as soon as possible. Two requisites are--
It must contain material to make the type of shelter you need.
It must be large enough and level enough for you to lie down comfortably.
When you consider these requisites, however, you cannot ignore your situation or your safety. You must also consider whether the site Provides concealment from hostile humanoid or animal observation.
Has escape routes.
Provides protection against wild animals and rocks and dead trees that might fall.
Is free from insects, reptiles, and poisonous plants.
You must also remember the problems that could arise in your environment. For instance
Avoid flash flood areas in foothills.
Avoid avalanche or rockslide areas in mountainous terrain.
Avoid sites near bodies of water that are below the high water mark.

Safe water in the wilds

If you can find the source of water in the mountains or hills, where it actually bubbles out of the ground, you are usually safe in drinking it. If you are downstream from other animals and humans, it is best to boil water for 10-20 minutes or distill it. As a last case option, 2% iodine solution can be used. Add five drops to a quart of clear water or 10 drops to dirty water.
The fact that natives may assert a water source is pure could indicate they have built up a degree of immunity. To their systems, the water is not tainted (polluted). Even the loneliest wild stream can be infected with Tularemia (commonly called rabbit fever) by wild animals such as muskrats and beavers. Tularemia can also be carried by meadow mice, ground hogs (woodchucks), ground squirrels, tree squirrels, beavers, coyotes, opossums, sheep, and various game birds
Polluted water can be sterilized by adding hot stones to the water in the filter. The water will soon boil becoming sterile and safe drink.

Multi-tool knives

Multi-tool knives may contain several blades, as well as additional other tools such as wire cutters or pliers. Examples of multi-tools include Leatherman, SOG, Gerber, Wenger and Victorinox (The "Swiss Army knife").
Keep your knife blades sharp and your knife will serve you well when backpacking.A hunting knife is normally a fixed blade used to dress game animals. It is often one with a normal blade, one with a mild curve or a curved and clipped blade. The length can vary and may include what is normally referred to as a “gut hook”.
